Mayor's Update: Happy Lunar New Year from West Vancouver Council

新年快乐

Happy Lunar New Year!

Today marks the beginning of the Year of the Tiger, the third animal in the zodiac calendar.

Lunar New Year symbolizes a time of new beginnings and renewed hope, and we look forward with optimism at the year ahead. Our community will carry the characteristics of the tiger—strength and bravery—into the new year.

The past two years of the pandemic have brought many challenges, and continues to do so. During these difficult times, our community has demonstrated strength and resilience. We have come together to support one another, especially our most vulnerable residents.

West Vancouver’s diverse languages and cultures all contribute to making our community a great place to live. We look forward to working with our residents on the projects and initiatives the District of West Vancouver has planned for 2022 that will continue to make our community more livable, vibrant, and inclusive.

We wish you and your family joy, prosperity, and good health this year.

Warm regards,

Mayor Mary-Ann Booth, Councillor Craig Cameron, Councillor Nora Gambioli, Councillor Peter Lambur, Councillor Bill Soprovich, Councillor Sharon Thompson, and Councillor Marcus Wong
